We adopted Simon in May, and he’s been a wonderful addition to our family…his brothers and sister love him very much…There’s never a dull moment at our house! This is a picture of Simon with his pit brother, Swisher…They are bedtime buddies…Thanks for doing such an amazing job for all of the fur babies.

Riley

We adopted “Gertie” on 2-26-11 from Help Save Pets, located in the Animal Care Center in Plainfield. She has come a long way since she arrived in our home. We have re named her “Riley”. At first she was very timid, and wanted to sleep in the corner curled up in a ball. She was also very nervous for several weeks, and did get upset very easily. She has made great strides in the 5 months we have had her! She still has a few quirks as most dogs do. Her confidence level is now bubbling over, and she has been a super dog! She loves playing with our grandkids when they visit, and is very well mannered for the most part. She is very obedient, and also does a lot of tricks! She plays dead, rolls over, and dances on her hind legs, and does the military crawl across our living room, and loves to swim. She has been great company for us since our dog “Cody” passed in December 2010. Our grandkids call her super dog, as she runs like a speeding bullet, I think she would do great in agility, I plan to pursue that to channel her energy. I will keep you up to date on her progress!

Carly

We wanted to provide everyone an update on Carly, the Queen of the northside of Chicago. We adopted this perfect girl in late March of this year. The attached photo shows Carly and her new pal Dexter. She loves everyone and everything (except squirrels) and the affection is returned by everyone. We have many children in the neighborhood who already love her and provide lots of pats and hugs whenever Carly is on a walk. Yesterday, she visited Dog Beach on Montrose Avenue and immediately hit the water running. She is a real joy and a perfect addition to our home. Thanks for all the help in the adoption process - we are very grateful.

Lucy

We adopted Ursula (now Lucy) in December 2009. She was 7 months old at the time, and had recently recovered from a bout of mange so her hair was very thin, but other than that you'd never know anything was ever wrong with her. She was, and still is, such a happy girl. She loves her family (which includes her kitty and two recently adopted brothers), and is happiest when getting lots of love and attention (never in short supply)! She is our princess, our bossy girl, our tattle-tale, and our bolt of white lightning. When she isn't tearing it up with her brothers you'll find her in the comfiest spot available (as you can see from the first photo). There's also a photo of Lucy and her "brothers" Gus (the Beagle) and Bug (the Boston mix).

We are so happy that Help Save Pets brought Lucy into our lives. We can't imagine life without her, and can't imagine what kind of life she had before coming to you, or what would have happened to her if you hadn't saved her.

Thank you for everything that you do!
