Zora

Zora1 Zora2Some things are just meant to be. Some of you may remember reading the story about Zora, the deaf pit bull mix, who came to us around Christmas of last year. She was found on the streets in Indiana by a couple of college students. They couldn’t find her owners, but wouldn’t leave her. They brought her to their home and proceeded to look for a rescue to take a deaf pit with neurological issues. She has a head tilt, head tremors, and a slight drag to her back feet. But, no one had ever met a sweeter dog. Finding out she was pregnant just added to a tough situation. We took her in and she had six wonderful, sweet puppies. They have since been adopted and are some of the best puppies we have ever adopted out. Their owners rave about them. Her foster family could not say enough wonderful things about her. Every person who met her, loved her. What happened after her puppies are adopted was nothing short of amazing. Those college kids and their mother couldn’t wait to get her back and adopt her. She is where she started, and where she belongs. Special needs dogs are always tough, so it’s wonderful to have one so beloved that finds her forever home before she ever has to go up for adoption. Yay for Zora and her new family!!!
